Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
Visomapper is operated by Merek Barrett. This policy explains how the Visomapper iOS and iPadOS application, the visomapper.com website, and related services collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information.
Visomapper does collect limited data. Most of it is pseudonymous technical, usage, attribution, and purchase data rather than information such as your name or email address. We do not require a named account to use the app.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on which features you use, we collect the following categories:
- Pseudonymous identifiers: a Firebase anonymous user ID, a randomly generated installation or device ID stored by the app, a session ID, and a RevenueCat app user ID. These identifiers let us recognize an installation, connect purchase status, restore unlocked content, and measure the app without requiring your name or email address.
- App and device information: device model, operating-system version, app version, build number, platform, production or sandbox environment, and event timestamps. We do not collect a hardware serial number.
- Product interaction and usage data: app launches, onboarding screens and answers, selected use case and experience profile, feature and editor actions, project save or load outcomes, external-display and recording events, review-prompt interactions, content downloads, and paywall or checkout steps. Analytics events describe the action and context; they do not contain the photo, video, audio, project canvas, or project note itself.
- Purchases and subscriptions: product, package, and offering identifiers; localized price and currency; trial, subscription, entitlement, purchase, restore, cancellation, and renewal status; transaction-related identifiers; and purchase timestamps. Apple processes billing. We do not receive your payment-card number or Apple Account password.
- Store and content activity: the identifier of content you download or unlock, the download timestamp, your pseudonymous user or installation ID, and whether premium access is active. This supports downloads, purchase restoration, and content analytics.
- Apple Ads attribution: an Apple AdServices attribution token and the campaign, ad group, keyword, and related attribution metadata Apple returns. We use this to understand whether an installation or purchase followed an Apple Ads interaction.
- Support information: if you email us, we receive the email address, message, and any files or diagnostic details you choose to include.
- Website and network information: our hosting providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser or device type, request time, and security logs when you visit the website or the app contacts our services.
3. Camera, Photos, Videos, Microphone, and Projects
Visomapper can request permission to use the camera, selected photos or videos, the microphone, and permission to save recordings to your photo library. These permissions are used only when you choose a feature that needs them.
- Selected photos, videos, camera frames, project files, and project notes are processed and stored locally on your device.
- Microphone input is analyzed on-device to drive audio-reactive visuals. We do not transmit microphone audio to our servers.
- Recordings are saved to your photo library only when you ask the app to save them.
- We do not upload your imported media or project contents to Firebase, RevenueCat, Vercel, or an AI provider.
Media that you download from the Visomapper content library comes from our servers and is cached on your device. We record the content item identifier and download event, not the contents of your personal photo library.
4. AI and Automated Processing
Visomapper uses Apple's Vision framework to detect rectangles and projection surfaces in a camera frame or image that you select. This automated image analysis runs on your device.
The current app does not send your media to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or another external generative-AI provider. We do not use your photos, videos, audio, projects, onboarding answers, or analytics data to train a generative-AI model. If we introduce cloud-based AI processing in the future, we will update this policy and provide any notice or consent required before that processing begins.
5. How We Collect Information
- Automatically from the app: when the app launches or you use a measured feature, complete onboarding, download content, or interact with a paywall or purchase flow.
- From your choices: when you answer onboarding questions, grant a device permission, import media, save a recording, or contact support.
- From Apple and RevenueCat: when they report Apple Ads attribution, product information, purchase status, subscription status, or entitlement changes.
- From our services: when the app syncs an anonymous user, restores unlocked items, fetches the content catalog, or records a content download.
6. Why We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- operate the app, content library, anonymous sign-in, premium access, purchase restoration, and customer support;
- measure onboarding, feature usage, paywall performance, subscription conversion, retention, and review prompts;
- attribute Apple Ads installs and purchases and evaluate campaign performance;
- diagnose failed requests, purchase-flow issues, abuse, fraud, and security incidents;
- improve features, content, reliability, user experience, and business decisions; and
- comply with legal, accounting, tax, and platform obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and improving Visomapper, your consent for optional device permissions, and compliance with legal obligations.
7. Third-Party Services and Data Disclosure
We disclose only the data needed for the following providers to perform services for Visomapper. We do not use AppsFlyer. Our current acquisition attribution uses Apple AdServices and our own analytics service.
- Google Firebase: anonymous authentication and app analytics, including pseudonymous user identifiers, device and app information, and product-interaction events. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
- RevenueCat: subscription and purchase management, entitlement status, offering and product details, anonymous customer identifiers, Apple Ads attribution, and selected onboarding profile attributes used to analyze conversion. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Apple: App Store distribution and billing, device permissions, photo-library access, on-device Vision processing, and Apple AdServices attribution. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel and contracted infrastructure providers: hosting the Visomapper website, content services, analytics endpoints, database, and media delivery. These providers process data on our instructions as needed to operate those services. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or our rights, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to applicable legal safeguards.
8. Advertising, Tracking, and Sale of Data
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use AppsFlyer, the Meta SDK, or another third-party mobile attribution SDK in the current Visomapper app.
Apple AdServices attribution is used to measure Apple Ads campaigns. It is not used by us to build an advertising profile across apps or websites owned by other companies. The current app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not perform that form of cross-company tracking.
9. Data Storage, Retention, and Security
- Local projects, imported media, cached content, and app preferences remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app, subject to device backups you control.
- Server-side analytics, anonymous user, content-download, attribution, and purchase records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, legal obligations, dispute resolution, security, and backups.
- Data may be processed in Canada, the United States, and other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your country.
We use HTTPS for app-to-server communications and apply reasonable access controls and safeguards. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
- You can deny or later disable camera, microphone, and photo-library permissions in iOS Settings. Some related features will then be unavailable.
- You can remove local projects and media in the app or by uninstalling the app.
- You can restore purchases through the app and manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account subscription settings.
- You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where those rights apply.
- You may withdraw consent for optional processing without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Because the app uses pseudonymous identifiers, we may need your installation, Firebase, or RevenueCat user identifier to locate server-side records. Email support@visomapper.com and we will explain how to find the identifier needed for your request. We may retain information where required by law or where an exemption applies.
Residents of jurisdictions such as the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Canada, and California may have additional rights under local law. California residents may also request confirmation that we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
11. Children's Privacy
Visomapper is a creative production tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when our app, providers, or legal obligations change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice in the app or on the website when required.
